This Sofitel is well located next door to a train station currently under construction. There are a number of restaurants and stores in the immediate vicinity, and is well positioned for Tram, bus and Taxi stations. The driveway is small and always crowded, and an outdoor smoking area is upwind from it, so you will get smoked as you enter or leave the hotel. One day we asked the doorman for a cab, but he told us to go across the street to the Taxi station. I guess I expected more from a better hotel. The lobby is nice, with a few decorative items. There is a restaurant to the right and a bar to the left. Both offer indoor and outdoor seating. The front desk personnel is polite, friendly and efficient. So is the staff at the restaurant and bar. There is a breakfast place to the back of the hotel on the ground floor. The breakfast buffet is very good, with plenty pf bakery choices, and egg station, cold cuts, cereals, and Asian section and plenty of fresh fruit. Floors are accessible by elevators controlled by your room key, an reassuring attempt at security. The rooms remined us of the W chain. Eclectic decor, uncomfortable lights all over, some of them without switches (!), and yet, insufficient lighting in the bathroom. There is no comfortable corner in the room, unless you want to sit or recline in the bed. Our "King-size" bed turned out to be two twins pushed together. Perhaps because of use, both slanted towards the outside. There was a large sliding window between the bedroom and the bathroom! Really? Do you really want to admire your companion while sitting on the toilet? Kinky! The sliding door to the bathroom could not be closed or locked. Strange. Also, because of these features, the room is always humid, since there is no air extractor over the shower. There is an awkward towel rod right in front of the bathroom sink, so it is hard to reach the sink, especially for a short person. There was minimal closet or drawer space, so presumably this room is intended for very short stays. The soaps were scented, a clear turn-off. The room is small, with little space, yet there is a large rocking chair in a corner, obstructing movement. While there is a coffee maker in the room, the choice of coffees is quite limited, with half being decaffeinated. We tried the restaurant one evening: the staff was nice and helpful, the food above average, but uninspiring. The best part of the hotel is the Front Desk and the breakfast area.

Lovely design and extremely convenient if traveling by train. However otherwise, a 5 star hotel needs to be in an upscale neighborhood, this ain't it. Staff super friendly and attentive, wonderful breakfast. There are no plugs on one side of the bed There are no USB ports There is no clock There is not enough light in either the bathroom or bedroom The bathroom design is cool if you like a no curb shower that gets water all over the floor, no exhause fan so stuff fogs up, sliding glass door and mirror into bedroom so no acoustical privacy The desk is a cute oval so not totally usable, the two chairs (one of which would be nice as a working desk chair) are visually part of the scene but actually useless. There is a very usefull power wall strip with an american outlet by the desk I suppose in retrospect we'd take a taxi to another 4 or 5 star hotel and add half hour each way plus the cost.

This was my second stay at this hotel. I found the front desk staff to be friendlier and checking a bit faster than it was 8 years ago. I still find the location convenient next to the central station and S and U bahn easily accessible. The area around the hotel is still not the best, lots of construction going on, dirty and some questionable characters roaming around. My room was well appointed with an awesome bathroom, more on that later. A water bottle was provided every day which was a nice touch. I asked for a quiet room away from elevators and stairs but I did not get one, it was the opposite actually. The bed was not very comfortable as the mattress sinked in on both sides and made it uncomfortable to sleep, the total opposite from my first stay. To add more spice to the sauce, every night it was noisy, children running around the hallway screaming at 12 am and parents yelling at them. People talking loud late at night not being mindful of guests trying to get some rest, me being one of them. Not the hotel's fault but unfortunately that was my experience. I was surprised to see the toilet had a bidet added to it. Oh man, I think I'll need to get me one of those for my toilet at home! Never felt so clean and refreshed afterwards... Large Rainfall shower and excellent water pressure. I had breakfast at their buffet once and found it to be disappointing, specially for the hotel class. Food choices were limited compared to other hotels in Europe for half the nightly rate. For the price I paid for the buffet I feel it was not worth it and overpriced. I used the spa once and I enjoyed it, pool is large and water temperature, even though not warm, it was fine and refreshing. There was a sauna and steam sauna, for some reason the steam sauna required prior reservation and a keycard to get in. The regular sauna was hot enough, towels were provided and self serve water.

Visit in May 2025 Luxury stay in Munich. I was looking for something for one night as a stopover during a longer trip. I liked it so much that we will just come here for some city break for 3 nights. Hotel right in the center, you can easily walk to the old town on foot. Professional service from start to finish. You will actually feel like you are in a 5* hotel. Spacious rooms, well equipped. We came with a small cat and there were bowls and a bed waiting for him. We did not use the breakfast due to leaving in the morning, but we were at the bar. Nice service and delicious cocktails.

Wonderful rooms and breakfast. The hotel has an underground parking with chargers for EV cars. Great location, close to the train station, easy access from the highway. In the ground floor there’s a bar with a nice variety of drinks, excellent champagne and cocktails.
