I was very happy with the value for money offered by this hotel. The rooms are quite recently decorated and clean. Views are nice (on the river side). Air conditioning works well. The mattress was comfortable. The shower works well and there were decent hair and body products provided. Our group had staggered arrival times with some early check-ins and reception handled it all perfectly. It is made totally clear at reception that you have to register the number plate of your car on the screen that is front and centre at the desk. Don’t ignore it as you will get a fine from the parking company. Some reviews are negative on the breakfast. We all thought it was excellent value. Pre-book it (up to midnight before) and it’s £12. Otherwise it’s £16. Things were running out but the staff were constantly topping up. There were plenty of options and everything we tried was tasty and fresh. The restaurant space is pleasant and light. We were all impressed with the efficiency of the staff; when we chatted briefly it turned out that they were a person down but they worked hard to keep things going smoothly. So, my compliments to the breakfast crew on Sunday 1st June - you did a really good job and it was much appreciated. Manage your expectations - it’s not claiming to be a five star venue but for the price point this place is great. I would definitely recommend, and will gladly stay there again.

The approach to the hotel from the car park is shabby and unwelcoming, the rooms failed to have and tea other then Earl Grey & chamomile and the breakfast was hugely disappointing and very badly described for Coeliacs

The hotel itself is ok. Although a bit dated and in need of refurbishing. But the low rating is due to the customer service provided. When checking out I have asked to keep my hand luggage bag in the storage facility until later in the afternoon. I was told that I can only keep a bag in there till 1pm as that’s when other customers may be coming in who are due to check in so the storage may get full… i have asked if there is a space at the moment in the storage and was told that there is, but I will need to pick up my bag no later than 1pm due to those other presumably more important customers arriving. This is pure discrimination in my eyes and I cannot understand why customers who are due to check in are prioritised ahead of customer who are checking out. Also not sure how much space my hand luggage would have taken and if it even would be an issue assuming other customers would leave their bags in. In addition luggage storage is clearly stated in the description of services offered by the hotel so if it operates per particular schedule this should be highlighted so potential customers can make an informed decision. The receptionist and duty manager on duty were polite but completely indifferent and clearly not helpful. I am regular Accor customer and never experience such a poor customer service in any of the hotels of the chain. But unfortunately I will have to stay away from this particular hotel in the future and wouldn’t recommend it to any family or colleagues as a base in Bedford.
