This hotel is well positioned and efficiently run. There is free car parking. Staff were friendly. It is a budget hotel and I stayed there because they allow dogs. The room was tiny with a ‘bathroom’ like you’d find on a train. The beds were narrow and very close together. My bed was extraordinarily hard and reminded me of sleeping on fracture boards. My wife said hers was ok so I must have been unlucky. I had very little sleep and was sore the next day. If you have very little luggage it’s ok for one night but I won’t be hurrying back.

City centre, but nice and quiet. And the team was ace!

Conveniently located close to the station, but good sound insulation that allowed a good sleep in spite of Saturday revellers! I was travelling with a bike: no problems and the hotel team were great in making life easy: they really were helpful, making a real difference to my short stay. And the price was good.

Hadrian’s Wall Walk

We stayed as a group of four with two rooms on two separate nights whilst walking Hadrian’s Wall. The rooms were clean and functional but very warm with a pod style bathroom which had a great shower. The one complaint we had was the “pet friendly” area, this was just an area at the side of the entrance by the pool table. We witnessed a family with four dogs allowing the dogs on the sofas, one did a poo on the carpet and one did a wee also on the carpet, the young girl picked the poo up in a napkin and asked the lady at the reception what to do with it, she just pointed at the bin under the open reception desk which is were it was put, the wee was just left to dry. I would expect a hard floor in a pet area and some cleaning materials as an absolute minimum? We ate breakfast here on both days at a cost of £12.50 per person, there was plenty of choice, it was hot and tasty and I would recommend it as an option if you aren’t keen on Wetherspoons which is just over the road. The second night we stayed was a Saturday and there was quite a bit of noise from outside with the window open but it’s a busy road with lots of bars etc.

Hotel isn’t the best but did for what we needed only stayed the one night. Staff were very friendly and quick check in. Hotel room was very dated and carpets through out the hotel were very dirty and needs a good re vamp. Carpark at the rear for parking which is included so that is a positive.

Please note all our rooms have laminate flooring, the corridor carpet is cleaned regular albeit stained. Your comments are invaluable as we continuously strive to enhance our guests experiences

Very convenient to bars, restaurants and local amenities and with close parking. Clean, all staff were friendly and it was well run. Bar prices reasonable. Two night stay, no problems and certainly no complaints. Booking in organised and speedy, all information provided in a friendly, efficient manner.
