Welcoming and incredible staff - the staff particularly were all so friendly and would greet you as you went in and out or even if you asked questions about the city. Staff went the extra mile to book the uber for us, and also helped us navigate the town on the maps they provided. Such a great, calm location and hotel so well-maintained. All coffee, tea, complimentary things, are topped up daily in the room and replenished even if we only drank 1-2. Lovely bathroom and spacious room. Ours was near the lift, even better for easy access. Quite soundproof too, can’t hear the people waiting for the lift nor even traffic outside the window. Hotel slippers are indeed also available upon request so remember to ask reception!

Firstly special thanks to Aleyna 🙏 she was very proactive, supportive and helpful.. hotel closed to train station 10 min and 20 min city center by walk. Very good,perfect breakfast and a lots of alternative within breakfast. Car park option you have. It was very very vacation wity Mercure Wien City🫶

Odalar temizdi. Ancak terlik konulmasını beklerdim. Bir de 408 numaralı odada kaldık duşta suyu yoğun açınca su dılarıya doğru yükselmeye başladı. Giderde sorun olabilir. Resepsiyondaki Aleyna hanım turistik gezimizle ilgili bizlere çok açıklayıcı bilgiler verdi.

Decent Stay, but Disappointing Service – Mercure Hotel, Vienna

Our stay at the Mercure Hotel in Vienna was okay, but not quite what we expected. The rooms were rather small, especially for two people. While it worked for a short trip with a friend, we found the space quite limited overall. That said, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was decent—nothing exceptional, but functional. One of the hotel’s advantages is its location. It’s about a 10-minute pleasant walk to the city center, which we didn’t mind at all. The surrounding area is quite nice, making it a convenient choice for sightseeing without being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the service. The staff was surprisingly rude. When we requested an iron for our clothes, we were told to come down to the reception to pick up the iron and ironing board ourselves. After finishing, we called them to let them know, only to be told to bring everything back to the reception. This level of service is unacceptable and not what we expected from a Mercure hotel. That being said, this Mercure is a more budget-friendly option compared to others in Vienna. If we had stayed in a more central location, the price per night would have been higher. Since we were only there for a short weekend trip (arriving Friday morning and leaving Monday afternoon), it was manageable. However, for a longer stay, the small room size and poor service would have been much more frustrating. Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable stay near the city center and don’t mind minimal service, this could work for a short visit. But if good hospitality and comfort are priorities, I’d recommend considering other options.
