A Good Central Place in Brussels to Stay on a Budget

Ibis is a budget part of Accor Group. Ibis Brussels City Centre is really in the city centre, excellent location, next to Novotel an upmarket area. It is close to Grand Place where everything is happening. There are a number of excellent eateries and is close to Rue Neuve, main shopping street. Expect to pay 20-25 Euro for Taxi from Gare Du Midi. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The room itself is on the smaller side, no cupboards or in room safe. Wi-Fi is of limited use, dropping all the time. Decent sized flat TV with limited English channels. Air condition was working with good temperature control. The bathroom is really tiny, but clean with running hot water and plenty of clean towels.[I guess this is standard for Ibis chain]. Breakfast is served in a decent area and good variety and plentiful. I guess this a good central place to stay on a budget.

Rooms are small by North Americas standards, but perfectly comfortable and very clean. Front desk staff was excellent, check in a breeze, great communication. Join the Accor loyalty club, it's worth it. Location is perfect, 2-3 mins away from Grand Place and the multitude of bars and restaurants down the many side streets of Brussels. Brussels is a very underrated place in our opinion, so many bars and restaurants. It was safe and exactly as described. We couldn't have had a better location for a value/budget hotel. Also close to the Debrouckere and Boeurs (sp?) tram/transit stations. Short walk, no problems even if you have luggage. Our attitude is that we don't go there to stay in the room, so why pay exorbitant prices? It's a great option, just take the tram from Gare du Midi and you are there. Thanks to the front desk staff there for a great stay, they were friendly, spoke English and always helpful.

This place is right across the street from the train station. Am not used to big cities so was a bit worried but Room was amazing. Breakfast spread also amazing. We ate at theLunch place a few doors down and i was able to buy stamps and mail some postcards too. Also they have luggage storage in their building for a few euro. We used the M to get to the auto museum the ferris wheel and the atomitron.

Booked a three night stay at The Hotel Ibis. Arrived by Eurostar at the Station and the hotel is just across the road from there. We were met by the friendly reception team, we made our way to our room which was more than adequate for our stay. We had a drink and a pizza sat in the bar as it was getting quite late, the menu is limited but we both had a pizza. The following morning breakfast offers everything you could possibly ask for from hot, cold, fruit, yogurts, bread, rolls, cereals and plenty of fruit juices, tea & coffee so we were set up for the day ahead. The room was warm enough and the bed together with the pillows were comfy. There was plenty of hot water for showers. The hotel is clean and welcoming. A pleasant walk to the City Center from the hotel took us approximately 25 minutes. Just round the back of the hotel is the local train service which is great if you want to go to The Atomium. You could not hear any of the trains from the hotel. There are a number of restaurants close by if you want to venture out later on at night. I would certainly recommend this as a good base for seeing Brussels.

Visited in April 2025, had a horrible experience, staff were unhelpful and tried to laugh and joke when we spoke to them about the issues, WiFi speed was laughable, if you could actually connect, Double room for 2 guest, only 3 super soft pillows at were beyond useless, asked at reception for additional or different pillows and was told ‘no we have none’ Advertised as offering air conditioning in the rooms, the unit was programmed by the hotel to be 20c with no option to change, we were there for very warm weekend and temperatures in the room were over 35c, asked reception if the block could be removed, I know other hotels have this option, to be told ‘no this is Brussels, deal with it’ Do not disturb on the bedroom door obviously mean nothing, on 3 occasions of our 4 night stay, someone has entered the room while we were not present, while we were unable to identify any missing items, we know someone had entered due to relocated items, closed windows and a cleverly placed card in the door frame! It was not a restful stay and had practically no sleep due the excessive heat in the room, the lack of quality pillows, Complained to reception and was laughed at, emailed hotel after first night to see if that prompted contact, no reply, asked to speak with a duty manager and was told no, we don’t have one!

Additionally, we empathize with the frustration you felt regarding the air conditioning settings. We aim to provide a comfortable environment for all our guests, and we are sorry that the temperature in your room was not conducive to a restful stay. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, and we are concerned to learn that you felt it was compromised. We have a strict policy regarding the 'do not disturb' sign and we deeply regret that this was not adhered to. We take this matter very seriously and will ensure that our procedures are reinforced to prevent any such occurrences in the future.
