France

Enjoy the endless possibilities offered by the world’s leading tourist destination with a memorable break in one of Accor’s splendid hotels in France. Whichever corner of this remarkable country you visit, France’s outstanding landscapes, heritage, cuisine and towns will be just a stone’s throw away. Our hotels range from affordable havens to lavish properties – they're among the best hotels in France and they await you for an unforgettable stay.

City destinations

France's main cities are excellent destinations for a city break or business trip that includes cultural visits, shopping and culinary experiences, starting with the Paris region – the Île-de-France. Discover the most wonderful monuments of Paris and Versailles from a city-centre base. Book a hotel near the Stade de France to watch a match or a memorable concert. Or opt for an affordable hotel in Roissy-en-France to be as close as possible to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. With its spa hotels, the Île-de-France is also a wellness destination. Each of France's provincial cities vibrantly affirms its unique identity too. So explore their iconic sites, from Bordeaux's Miroir d'eau – the world's largest reflecting pool – to Toulouse's pink bricks, from Strasbourg's timbered houses to Lyon's traboule passageways.

Sea and mountains

France's stunning gems of nature lie close to its cities. Both Normandy's beautiful upper and lower areas are only around two hours from Paris – breathe the Channel's fresh sea air in Trouville, Deauville or beside Mont-Saint-Michel. And we also offer hotels in the old Norman cities of Rouen and Caen, two destinations that are rich in cultural heritage and just a short distance from Normandy's breathtaking cliffs. Or why not escape to unspoilt Brittany via rail links with the historical cities of Rennes and Saint-Malo? Toulouse stands at the foot of the majestic Pyrenees. And from Lyon – the former capital of Roman Gaul – several ski resorts in the towering Alps can be reached by car in under two hours. You can ski during the day then go back to sleep in Lyon in the evening. Or if you stay in a hotel in Chamonix or Annecy you'll be sure to make the most of the spectacular Alpine scenery. Our hotels in Nice are among the best in the city and, just like our properties in Cannes and Marseille, they combine the charm of a large historical city with the dreamlike pleasure of southern France's sun-kissed beaches.

Culture and countryside

Many small French cites feature marvellous heritage. And some of the country's most famous sites are in the middle of the countryside. From Arles and Nîmes, worth visiting for their Roman ruins, you can easily reach the Camargue nature reserve and the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct. And if you stay in Niort, you can quickly get to the Poitevin marshland, another beautiful reserve. The enchanting city of Aix-en-Provence, which includes wonderful fountains and townhouses, is surrounded by vineyards, hills and endless fields of lavender. Colmar and Tours, where our hotels also await you, are both renowned for their quaint half-timbered houses – the former is the perfect stopover on a discovery tour of Alsace's wines, the latter an ideal base for visiting the splendid Loire Valley chateaux.

Frequently Asked Questions

It all depends on why you're going to France. The ski season runs from November to April, but weather conditions vary from year to year and from ski resort to ski resort. The summer holidays are the height of the tourist season. July and August are also the hottest months, so if you'd prefer to avoid searing heat – especially in southern France – and higher prices, head to France in June or September. The cultural vibrancy and nightlife of French cities continue all year round

Accor offers a wide range of affordable hotels. These include economy properties in city centres, but it's worth looking for our inexpensive solutions in city suburbs that are well connected to public transport, especially in Paris and Lyon. As you drive down to the south of France, stop off in a hotel near the A7 motorway – a good opportunity to visit Vienne or Valence

Our most sumptuous properties range from secret sanctuaries and spa hotels with pools to legendary luxury hotels and historic chateaux. Our 4-star and 5-star hotels are the ideal spots for your most magnificent holidays, whether in a city, the countryside or by the sea. Discover their outstanding services, the unique worlds they offer and the memorable experiences to enjoy in their bars and restaurants.
